When faced with scale and/or complexity, we bring ease, clarity and pace to the work you need to do.
Imagine you have a multi-million pound project that’s behind schedule, and needs a significant turnaround right away. Or perhaps your organisation has renewed its strategy and now the legacy approach to performance management is no longer fit for purpose.Maybe you’ve a large number of people that you want to bring together to build connections and collaboration across teamsin order to provide a better service tocustomers.
All real challenges, each holding back the performance of an organisation in some way; each unlocked by a Springboard Event. We support each challenge with our approach of ‘Discover (Why) – Frame (What) – Create (How)and then Release (Act)’; all at pace.
But in case you’re not familiar with our approach, here’s three principles you should know…
It answers a very specific question or solves a complex problem
The reason ‘why’ we run a Springboard Event is critical; it provides the focus and the intent for the ~2 day workshop. As you can imagine, framing and scoping the ‘work to do’ is important to do beforehand and so requires a diverse design team to help agree specific outcomes and co-create the Event. As Albert Einstein is famously quoted, “If I had an hour to solve a problem I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions”. Design and preparation plays a huge part.
It draws on the wisdom of everyone in the room
As written about by James Surowieki in ‘The Wisdom of Crowds’, drawing on the diversity and intelligence ofa group in a balanced way achieves a “collectively intelligent solution”.
Intelligence alone however cannot bring different perspectives when problem solving and likewise a diverse group that is uninformed will struggle to achieve great results. Creating safety and equal voice in the group makes sure the result is a reflective of everyone’s work and not just those with more political power or the loudest voice.
It’s structured, disciplined and expertly facilitated
As we’re external to the problem and the organisation, we support groups to think beyond their usual perspectives and ways of working. There is robust process that underpins the Event, however its balanced with flexibility to accommodate new problems that arise or areas that need a quick group decision on. The work itself is partitioned into units, some push groups to take views from different perspectives or think big, whereas some units require more filtering and refining to identify a quality output. Critically, as much focus to the design of the Event is given to the task in hand as it is to make sure every participant feels welcome, included and heard.
So, if you had a magic wand and could create momentum, co-create and/or accelerate something complex in your organisation, what would it be? Take a look at our Springboard Event overview for a few prompts.
